Hi, I'm Deniz.

I'm a 3rd-year Computer Engineering student at METU. I focus primarily on backend development with Java/Spring Boot, while also working with Next.js/TypeScript on the frontend and Python for automation and data-driven projects. During my internship at Atmosware (a Turkcell Group company), I built an internal issue tracking system using a modular architecture with JWT-based security, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Kafka. It was a turning point both technically and in understanding how a real engineering team operates.

I'm currently looking for part-time backend developer roles, while also taking on freelance projects.

I never jump straight into a project. I start by understanding what it actually needs, its purpose, and how it will be used. From there I decide on the right tech stack, do the necessary research, and sketch out a draft. I break the work into pieces and make a plan. Only then do I start coding.

I pay close attention to keeping my projects modular and scalable. Building something that's easy to extend later matters a lot to me. I'm also careful about edge cases; I care less about something "looking like it works" and more about it actually working correctly.

My current focus is system design. I've been diving into Kubernetes, Docker, load balancers, and microservice architectures, trying to build a deeper understanding of how growing systems are designed and scaled.
